The Beach

Here are some pictures that Flamingo missed out on one of the days we went hiking on the coast.
All over the huge rocks, are puddles that can be pretty big.  Some of the puddles dried up and there's just a pile of salt left!
Rock art..
If you look kind of closely you can see the well camouflaged seals on the rock.
I am surrounded by tons of beautiful clams that are a shiny blue color.
Dad is sticking his head through a rock that had a small hole in the top.

The Aquarium

Today we spent our day in Monterey.  This morning me and Flamingo just chilled because dad was at a meeting.  I just played on my tablet and stuff and Flamingo just kind of sat there.  The meeting was in a military base!  After that we headed for the Monterey Bay Aquarium.  But first we stopped at Panda Express for lunch.

At the aquarium, we saw sharks, jelly fish, sea otters, fish, seals, birds, coral, and even eels and sea horses.  In the Kelp tank we saw a scuba diver feed the sharks, starfish and everything else with dead squid.  He was connected to speakers so we could talk to him while we saw him feed stuff under water.  It was really cool.  I also touched a starfish but was too scared of the slimy stingrays.  For the aquarium, Flamingo decided to stay in the car so we wouldn't lose him.  There was a huge traffic jam on the way back to the hotel so we decided to wait at a pizza place nearby.  We had pizza for dinner and dad ran into someone from his work (Donna).

Hiking

This is what Flamingo missed out on today:

Bri also missed out.

We slept in this morning after watching So You Think You can Dance last night.  At about 10:00 we went to Whole Foods (the Meijer in California but healthier) and got some snacks and some great sandwiches for lunch!  Then we set off for Big Basin (California's first state park)!  After a long tummy sloshing car ride up a mountain we felt a little nauseous, but everything was fine after our yummy snacks. And  for dessert we had some facinating, fruity, fun-filled, flavorful, Peruvian chocolate.  Then we tryed a mini loop trail that was just to show you how how the rest of the park was gonna be like.  We quickly decided that we were pros and needed something a little more adventurous.  The trails we planned on going on were called Seqouia, Wastahi, and Sky Meadow.  We started off!  After backtracking some we found the waterfall we were looking for we decided to head back a different route but after a long time on Skyline to the Sea, we got nervous and headed back. We finally went back the way we came and followed the highway.  When we got back to headquarters we asked them if it was posible to go that way and get back in time?  Aparently if we had just gone a little further we would have seen it.  We were kind of exausted after a hilly ten-k and finished our sandwiches then started back down the stomach sloshing mountain.  The veiw up there is awesome!  Then when we got to our hotel we were kind of full so we went out for some fro-yo at Yogurt Land:-).  I had lemon cookie and cheese cake ice cream with chocolate sauce, reeses, and toffee.

Good morning, Cupertino!

Here's the view from our hotel room:

Some photos of our day yesterday... There's me in San Francisco!

There's me dipping my toes in the bay!

And there are the sneaky photos from yesterday at 1 Infinite loop!

Up up and away!

Right now Flamingo is flying!  His ears are popping but he is happy because he is flying through some clouds!  It looks cool!  He can barely see the roads and highways anymore!

In California!

Bella and I got to dip our toes in the Pacific. It was awesome and I wished I could swim in it.

There's Alcatraz. A little morbid. Flamingo hid his tropical, cheerful self in the luggage in our trunk for this outing.

This is basically how dipping our toes in the Pacific went. *dip* "AHHHHH IT'S COLDDD!!!" *dip* "hoohooehhhheeee coldddd" *dip*

Dad found a submarine.

We're not supposed to tell mom but we got Boudin's sourdough bread-- a grilled cheese and bacon sandwich and a tomato basil pizza. Delicious, of course.

We took sneaky pictures at 1 Infinite Loop but they're on my camera at this time and I'm too tired to get them. Apple had greeting packages waiting for Cocoa Campers at the hotel when I checked in.
There's also some snacks and an awesome apple water bottle full of candy, a folder, and some general info.

Also the hotel is super swanky and there is binary on the curtains. I'm totally in MY Hollywood. WOOOOOOOO!!!

Flying flamingo

We're in the air and a little shutter happy.

We are in Colorado right now and we passed over some mountains. Unfortunately it was pretty cloudy so we didn't get to see the BIG ones. Here's a pretty picture of a winding river.

We also liked the circle fields in Nevada.

And we thoroughly enjoyed the "free" food. Woo hoo little packages of sugary peanuts!

Here are some mountains we saw. They're so pretty. Bella says "I want to live down there."

Here is a patchwork quilt. Oh wait...

Dad talked big about how well he works on planes. Here he is paying strict attention to Paul Hegarty.

Unfortunately flamingo is missing the fun because he had to be crammed in the carry on bag. Sorry buddy.
